Make a Splash! Blueberry Splash returns for 10th year at Marshall County Blueberry Festival

Grab your goggles and dive in — the Marshall County Blueberry Splash is back for its 10th year! The beloved open-water swim takes place Sunday, September 6, at the west end of Myers Lake, with warm-ups starting at 8:30 a.m. and the race kicking off at 10:00 a.m.

The Blueberry Splash is a one-mile open-water swim held on Myers Lake during the annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival — and it's more than just a fun dip. In its decade of making waves, the event has helped well over 100 kids take free swim lessons through the funds raised.

"Water safety is so very important, and every child deserves the opportunity to learn these lifesaving skills," organizer Wendy Holloway said.

The registration fee is $40, and swimmers can register right up to 8:15 a.m. on the day of the race. Prefer to stay dry? You can still make a difference — donations are welcome and go straight to the same cause.

Best of all, 100% of the money raised goes toward swimming lessons for kids. So whether you're swimming the mile, cheering from the shoreline, or simply chipping in a few dollars, you're helping a child learn skills that could one day save a life.

Just imagine — this time next week, you could be getting ready for the Blueberry Splash!
