As fall officially begins, the American Red Cross encourages people to celebrate the new season with a lifesaving blood or platelet donation to help maintain a strong blood supply. Donors of all blood types, especially those with types O positive and B negative, are needed now.
For many, daily routines change with the seasons, but blood and platelet donations must stay a priority. Every donation is essential to ensure all patients who depend on critical transfusions, including car accident victims, people with sickle cell disease, and cancer patients, receive the care they require.
Fall into donating blood or platelets. Make an appointment to donate now by visiting RedCrossBlood.org, calling 1-800-RED-CROSS, or using the Red Cross Blood Donor App. Everyone who donates blood, platelets, or plasma from Sept. 22 to Oct. 19, will receive a $10 Amazon.com Gift Card by email.
