The Marshall County Plan Commission will meet tonight at 7 p.m. in the second-floor meeting room of the County Building. The meeting is open to the public and streamed live on the county’s YouTube channel.
The agenda includes consideration of the request from James Rippy to create a two-lot subdivision at 4860 Underwood Road in Polk Township zoned A-3. The second request from Kenneth and Michelle Bachtel is a zoning change from C-2 to A-1 at 106347 Hawthorn Road in Center Township.
The Marshall County Plan Commission will also consider an ordinance amending articles 3, 6, and 13 to create a regulation for battery energy storage systems. This has been an ongoing discussion with the plan commission. The commissioners have imposed a moratorium until October to allow the commission time to create regulations for these large-scale battery storage facilities.
The county plan commission will also get an update on tree buffers, discuss data centers, and review the proposed budget for 2025.
