The REES Theatre calls all young aspiring actors! Auditions for the Missoula Children's Theatre (MCT) production of ALADDIN will be held on Monday, June 22nd, offering local students a chance to shine on the big stage.
The open casting call will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The REES Theatre. Those planning to audition should arrive early at 9:30 a.m. for registration and expect to stay for the full two-hour session. Organizers note that no advance preparation is necessary. Some selected cast members will be asked to stay for a rehearsal immediately following the auditions.
The auditions are open to all students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The production features a wide variety of fun and quirky roles, including Aladdin and his Mother, Princess Dory, the Sultan, the Grand Vizier, mischievous Genies, a stubborn Donkey, a spunky Goat, Sinbad and his Sailors, wise-cracking Palm Trees, fleet-footed Camels, and even a pack of lost Penguins.
In addition to acting roles, students can also audition to be Assistant Directors. These individuals will aid in rehearsals throughout the week and take on essential backstage responsibilities.
The Missoula Children's Theatre touring productions are renowned for bringing complete sets, costumes, and props to local communities. MCT Tour Actor/Directors will lead the cast through an intensive week of rehearsals, running daily from 10:00 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
The week of hard work will culminate in two public performances of ALADDIN at The REES Theatre: Friday, June 26th at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, June 27th at 2:00 p.m.
The Missoula Children’s Theatre residency in Plymouth is made possible by Bowen Printing, with additional support from Dan and Charlotte Tyree.
