The REES Theatre is teaming up with the internationally renowned Missoula Children’s Theatre to bring a special youth production of Aladdin to Plymouth, and local students are invited to take the stage.

Open group auditions will be held on Monday, June 22, at 10 a.m. at The REES Theatre. The casting call is open to students ranging from kindergarten (entering first grade for the summer tour) through 12th grade.

No advance preparation is required for the group audition. Students simply need to arrive ready to participate, have fun, and try their best. Participants must arrive by the scheduled start time and stay for the entire two-hour session.

Approximately 50 to 60 local students will be cast in the production, with up to four additional students selected to serve as Assistant Directors to help support rehearsals and backstage duties. Organizers note that while many roles are available, not everyone who auditions will be cast.

The week-long theatre camp costs $150 per child, with payment due on the day of auditions.

Rehearsals will take place daily from 10 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. throughout the week. While not every cast member will be needed for every rehearsal, auditioning students must have a clear schedule for the entire week and be able to attend all required rehearsals and performances. The first rehearsal will begin just 15 minutes after auditions conclude. Students scheduled for the full rehearsal block will need to bring a sack lunch or snack.

After a whirlwind week of rehearsals, the cast will present two public performances at The REES:

  • Friday, June 26 at 7:30 p.m.
  • Saturday, June 27 at 2:00 p.m.

The Missoula Children’s Theatre is a Montana-based nonprofit that works with over 65,000 students globally each year. The residency brings professional touring directors to local communities to create full theatrical productions—complete with costumes, scenery, and stage magic—in just one week.

To sign up, parents can submit an application via email to director@reestheatre.org or drop it off in person at The REES.
