Local organizations receive Operation Round Up Grants

Operation Round Up provides grants to local non-profits to support their community efforts. The Marshall County REMC Operation Round Up® board awarded $6,952.45 to the following organizations:

The Argos Fire Territory received funding to help cover the cost of purchasing vehicle stabilization struts to stabilize vehicles after accidents, thereby improving rescue capabilities.

The John Glenn Football program received funding to support their growing team and help provide clothing, football gear, and meals for the players. John Glenn’s High School football program aims to promote values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance while offering a positive and competitive experience for student-athletes.

Oakhaven Community received funding to help cover the costs of planters and flowers. Residents can choose, plant, and maintain the flowers, engaging in a meaningful activity that promotes a vibrant lifestyle. Oakhaven Community offers affordable housing options for low-income elderly adults.

Plymouth Community School Corporation received funding to purchase an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Trainer for training their staff in AED use. Plymouth Community School Corporation’s mission is to educate and prepare every student for success, operating as a professional learning community.

Potawatomi Wildlife Park received funding to enhance its visitor center, where they host field trips, workshops, and many individual visitors. The park's mission is to connect people with nature, local history, and community through low-impact recreation and educational programs.

The Operation Round Up program enables Marshall County REMC members to support worthy community causes and work together to help others. Thank you to those members who round up their electric bill to the next highest dollar each month.

The next round of grants will be awarded in October. Charitable organizations within the Marshall County REMC service area are eligible to apply. Organizations may receive only one grant in a 12-month period. The organization does not need to be a member of Marshall County REMC. Applications can be found at www.marshallremc.com.
