This October, several local McDonald’s restaurants added a pop of pink to their menu – and the community responded in a big way.
Through their Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Whipped Cream fundraiser, local McDonald’s Owner/Operators Paul and Tim Jedele raised $7,000 to support free mammograms at Putnam County Hospital for individuals who cannot afford them.
Throughout the month, participating McDonald’s locations offered pink whipped cream on select beverages including Frappés, Shakes, and Mochas. For every pink-topped beverage sold, 25 cents was donated to the Putnam County Hospital Cancer Center's Mammography Fund. Thanks to strong community participation, the fundraiser will help expand access to early detection and critical breast health services across the region.
“We’re incredibly grateful for the way our communities showed up,” said Tim Jedele, McDonald’s Owner/Operator. “Something as small as a pink-topped shake or Frappé made a real impact. These funds directly support neighbors who need access to lifesaving screenings, and we’re proud to help make that happen.”
His brother and fellow Owner/Operator Paul Jedele added, “This is a cause that means a lot to us, and we’re humbled by the support. Knowing that $7,000 will go toward providing free mammograms – right here in our local communities – reminds us why partnerships like this matter. We want everyone to feel supported when it comes to their health.”
The Jedeles added that the project was made possible through the support of their supplier, Martin Brower, and the Tiger Club Collective - a creative, student-run team at Greencastle High School that quickly printed and distributed promotional materials to help spread the word.
