Dana Neer from Culver appeared before the Marshall County Commissioners on Monday morning seeking approval for a prayer vigil on the courthouse lawn this Sunday.
Neer said the short ceremony would be from 1 p.m. to 1:20 p.m. on September 21 in remembrance of Charlie Kirk. He said his funeral will be at 2 p.m. EST, and many people will want to get home to watch the service.
Commissioner Jesse Bohannon said this wouldn’t be an official county event or sponsored by the commissioners. He motioned to approve the use of the courthouse lawn next Sunday for the Kirk ceremony.
Marshall County citizens will be holding the memorial service and prayer vigil, and all community members are invited to attend.
