Rochester Park and Recreation board members, business owners and volunteers braved the cold temps over the weekend to kick off the second annual Light Up the Park event with a lighting ceremony on Saturday, Dec.13, in the Rochester City Park.

Light Up the Park is a drive-through holiday light display open to the public. The north entrance to Rochester City Park from Park Road will be closed during that time. Drivers are asked to enter through the east entrance of the park off 13th St.
Rochester Parks Department board member Jessica Shafer said their team is thankful for all of the volunteers and businesses who participated in the event by hanging lights and decorations. Some of the participants this year include Fulton County REMC, RTC, Affordable Hearing, Craig Welding, Brubaker Farms, Green Oak Antiques, SoVan Media and Restorative Resonance.
Shafer said their team is also thankful for the $8,400 grant awarded by the Northern Indiana Community Foundation to support light expansion for the event.
Lights will now remain on each evening in the Rochester City Park until Jan 3.
