A traffic stop for speeding Sunday resulted in the arrest of a Plymouth man.
Officer Fisher with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on South Michigan Street south of Jackson Heights Road at about 6:15 p.m. Sunday for speeding (47 mph) in a 35-mph zone.
The driver was identified as Levi Johnson, 23, of the 300 block of Pennsylvania Avenue in Plymouth.
Johnson told the officer he was suspended, and officer Fisher determined that Johnson was suspended with a prior. Johnson was taken into custody and transported to Marshall County Jail. He was booked in for driving while suspended with a prior and the vehicle was impounded by Lyons towing.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
