The city of Lawrenceville is asking residents to complete and return a needed water department survey.
The cross-connection survey is being mailed to each city water customer as part of a state of Illinois mandated program to reduce the risk of contamination by any sources of backflow. The survey is looking to identify any sources of non-potable liquid, solid or gas that could contaminate the water supply.
The one-page survey takes about 5 minutes to complete and consists of 15 questions that will be used as a valuable tool in protecting city residents from backflow issues.
Lawrenceville water customers receiving the survey are asked to complete and return it by the date of Tuesday, June 30th, 2026. They can bring the survey in person to City Hall at 700 State Street in Lawrenceville during regular business hours, bring it to City Hall and place it in the water payment drop box after hours or mail it to the Lawrenceville Water Department, 700 State Street, Lawrenceville, IL 62439.
