Organizers have set up a GoFundMe account to assist the family of a Lawrence County teen who is recovering from injuries suffered in a swimming accident in water east of Pinkstaff.
16-year-old Knox Pritchard of Lawrenceville was with friends swimming at the location the afternoon of Sunday, August 2nd. He dove into the water and did not surface after a period of time. He was dragged from the water by those with him who then began CPR and then took him by side-by-side vehicle from the remote location to meet emergency medical personnel called to the scene.
Pritchard was initially taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes and was later flown to Indianapolis where he underwent major surgery for neck and spinal injuries. The youth faces a lengthy recovery and rehabilitation period according to his family.
