A Lawrence County tradition continued Tuesday evening in Lawrenceville.
The Lawrence County Farm Bureau held its 106th annual meeting at the Central Christian Church. The annual affair is held to bring together local members and their families and to review the activities and accomplishments of the local organization.
Farm Bureau manager Molly Seals told GIANT-FM News that 2025 was a solid year for Lawrence County. They were given statewide recognition at the Illinois Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in Chicago. Lawrence County won the Most Outstanding Young Leader Program and also had Dusty Dorney named as the Friends of Young Leader Award winner. Lawrence County also was the recipient of a multi-county award with neighboring Richland County on a first responder anhydrous ammonia program.
Seals says there are plans for more programs to help involve the membership in 2026.
