On Thursday, March 16 (2023) at approximately 8:00 p.m., the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center received a call regarding a domestic disturbance in LaPaz.
When Officers arrived, they attempted to speak with both parties involved.
While attempting to speak to the male, 35-year-old Rodney McNeal of South Main Street in LaPaz he tried to flee back into his house but was detained by Officers. Officers were able to determine through investigation that Rodney McNeal had allegedly struck a female in the face. He was transported to Plymouth Hospital to receive clearance. Once medically cleared, he was transported to the Marshall County Jail and lodged on an outstanding civil warrant. Additional charges were Domestic Battery with a Prior, Domestic Battery in the Presence of a Minor, Resisting Law Enforcement, and Intimidation.
He was issued a Court date of April 4, and has a bond of $1,500.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
