Patriot Rail notified Plymouth City Council, Don Ecker, on Tuesday of their plan to finally make the promised improvement to the railroad crossing on Lake Avenue/State Road. The railroad crossing will close at 7 a.m. Friday, October 24th, is only scheduled to be closed for 24 hours.
ISB Flagging will handle all flagging duties and place all detour signage.
Patriot Rail will resurface and repair both railroad track crossings and the adjacent sidewalks.
The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) requires the detour route to be on all state roads since the closure impacts State Road 17. Detour signs will be placed accordingly.
City Councilman Don Ecker said local drivers can use alternative detour routes, but asks drivers to avoid adding unnecessary traffic in residential areas if possible.
