The Lawrenceville Lady softball Indians are in position to capture a regional tournament championship.
They outlasted Dieterich 10-7 in 11 innings in semi-final play Thursday at the Class 1A Regional being hosted by Albion (Edwards County) The contest was tied at 6 after 7 innings before the Lady Indians put together a four-run rally in the 11th to win the game.
The winners scored 10 runs on 15 hits and made 4 errors while the losers had 7 runs on 10 hits and also committed 4 errors. Ava Cessna paced the offense with 3 hits including a homer, Olivia Brush also had 3 hits and an RBI, Elaina Hoke and Reagan Ivers each added 2 hits and an RBI and Allison Evans and Alix Garza each had hits and drove in 2 runs apiece.
The win improves the Lady Indian record to 9-18 and advances them to the title game Saturday, May 23rd at 4 p.m. They will face either host Albion (Edwards County) or Grayville.
