Gary Schmucker, 47, of Warsaw, was found guilty after a two-day jury trial presided over by United States District Court Judge Damon R. Leichty, announced Acting United States Attorney M. Scott Proctor.
The jury returned a verdict of guilty against Schmucker on the sole count of the Indictment charging him with possessing a firearm as an unlawful drug user.
Sentencing is scheduled for November 25, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Any specific sentence to be imposed will be determined by the District Court Judge after consideration of federal statutes and the United States Sentencing Guidelines.
This case was investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives with assistance from the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Department. The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorneys Joseph P. Falvey and Jerome W. McKeever.
