A Howard County man is facing several charges after trying to flee from law enforcement.
Around 9:00 p.m., August 30, an Indiana State trooper was patrolling on Markland Avenue near Market Street when he attempted to stop a GMC for failure to stay within the lane. ISP also had reason to believe the driver, later identified as Steven D. Armfield, 58, from Kokomo, did not possess a valid drivers license. The GMC failed to stop and led law enforcement on a pursuit through Kokomo for approximately 6-8 blocks.
During the investigation, Lieutenant Zeiser gathered information leading to the belief that Armfield was under the influence. Armfield was transported to an area hospital for a certified test before being transported to the Howard County Jail.
A subsequent search of the GMC revealed suspected methamphetamine, cocaine, legend drug, and drug paraphernalia.
