Knox County Indiana will celebrate its watermelon producing history on Friday, August 1st and Saturday, August 2nd.
The Chamber of Commerce sponsored Watermelon Festival will be held on Patrick Henry Square in downtown Vincennes. There are activities set to a watermelon theme both days with vending, free music, a tractor show, beer garden and watermelon eating contest highlighting Friday and a 5K walk/run, baby/toddler pageant, a watermelon seed spitting and tossing contest, a variety show and the Miss Watermelon Pageant rounding out the schedule on Saturday.
All the events are free and family friendly.
