The Marshall County Historical Society is sponsoring a Brown Bag Lunch & Lecture Event on Friday, July 5th, from Noon – 1:00 p.m.
Former Plymouth Mayor, Mark Senter will present “Mayoral Mishaps,” a presentation on the weird and wacky highlights of his time as Mayor!
Senter spent 16 years as mayor. During that time, he had a front seat to the very best the people of this community have to offer. Occasionally, however, Mark had to navigate some tricky waters to deal with the challenges of a bustling city!
Senter retired at the end of 2023. Prior to taking office he had served for 28 years with the Indiana State Police, 21 of those years as a detective.
The former mayor says his proudest accomplishment is developing River Park Square, a new downtown park that was at one time a major blight and flood area. Through FEMA funding, 11 homes and buildings in the area were purchased, and a decade’s long dream came true with a ribbon cutting in 2014. River Park Square is the center for our Saturday Farmer’s Market and the popular Mayor’s Months of Music in July and August on Friday nights. A second phase of River Park Square was completed in the summer of 2023.
Senter lives in Plymouth with wife Leanne. They are also the parents of Megan and Riley (wife Brooke), as well as Pops & Nana to 3-year-old Lena, who all live in Indianapolis.
The Brown Bag event will be at the Marshall County Historical Society & Museum, 123 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. Pack a lunch and learn with us! For more information, please call 574-936-2306.
