The Indiana State Police Bremen Post will join more than 50 law enforcement agencies across the state on Friday, May 15th for the annual "Cop on a Rooftop" fundraiser benefiting Special Olympics Indiana.
Troopers will be stationed at the Dunkin' location at 2124 North Michigan Street in Plymouth from 5:00 a.m. to noon. Throughout the morning, officers will be in, around, and on top of the store to help raise awareness and funds for the more than 20,000 Hoosier athletes who train and compete for free through Special Olympics Indiana.
Community members who stop by and make a donation will receive a coupon for a free donut. Those who donate $10 or more will receive a coupon for a free medium hot coffee as an added thank you for their generosity.
Sgt. Ted Bohner of the ISP Bremen Post highlighted the community value of the event. "Events like Cop on a Rooftop give us a unique way to interact with our community while supporting a worthwhile cause that benefits local Special Olympics athletes," he said.
Since its inception, Cop on a Rooftop events have collectively raised more than $125,000 for Special Olympics Indiana. Visitors to participating Dunkin' stores are also encouraged to learn more about their local Special Olympics Indiana program and how they can get involved.
