ISP Lieutenant Chad Larsh promoted to the rank of Captain

Indiana State Police Superintendent Anthony Scott has promoted Lieutenant Chad Larsh to the rank of Captain and designated him the Indiana State Police Area II Captain. Captain Larsh will oversee the Toll Road, Ft. Wayne, and Bremen Districts in this position.

Larsh is from La Fontaine, Ind., and graduated from Southwood High School in 1990. He then attended Vincennes University, earning an associate’s degree in industrial drafting.

Capt. Larsh is a graduate of the 52nd Indiana State Police Recruit Academy, which graduated on June 4, 1995. He has dedicated his entire career to the Bremen Post, working his way up the ranks. He first served as a Squad Sergeant from 2008 to 2013 and then as the Bremen Post District Commander from 2013 until this recent promotion. During his time as a trooper, Capt. Larsh has worked as a Field Training Officer (FTO), participated in the ISP SWAT Team, served on the Honor Guard, and has been actively involved in the Marijuana Eradication Program.

The Indiana State Police is a family affair for Capt. Larsh. His father, Duane Larsh, retired from the State Police after 21 years of service in 1986. Larsh’s father-in-law, Melvin Keplinger, also served in the Indiana State Police for 28 years before retiring in 1991.

Capt. Larsh and his wife, Michelle, reside in Kosciusko County and have two adult sons.
