The Marshall County Coroner’s Office was notified Thursday of a death in the 300 block of Clover Street in Culver.
Just before 9:30 a.m., officers with the Culver Police Department were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at the residence. Officers located a deceased male. After making this discovery, the Indiana State Police were contacted.
Billy McCarty, 54, of Culver, was found deceased at his home. McCarty was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner John Lampkins.
The investigation led by Culver Police Chief Chad Becker and assisted by the Indiana State Police and the Coroner’s Office has determined that foul play is not suspected in the death.
An autopsy was scheduled for Friday to assist in determining McCarty’s cause of death.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Culver Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office, the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, and the Marshall County Humane Society.
