
The Marshall County Coroner’s Office was notified of a death in the county on July 3, at 9:33 a.m. in the 300 block of Clover Street in Culver.
At approximately 9:20 a.m., officers with the Culver Police Department were dispatched to conduct a welfare check at the residence. While at this residence officers located a deceased male. After making this discovery, the Indiana State Police were contacted.
The deceased, Billy McCarty, age 54 of Culver, was found deceased at his home. McCarty was pronounced dead by Deputy Coroner John Lampkins.
Investigation led by Culver Police Chief Chad Becker and assisted by the Indiana State Police and the Coroner’s Office has determined that foul play is not suspected in the death.
An autopsy has been scheduled for July 4th to assist in determining Mr. McCarty’s cause of death.
The Indiana State Police was assisted by the Culver Police Department, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office, the Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office, the Marshall County Coroner’s Office, and the Marshall County Humane Society.
