Parke County deputies responded Monday to the area of SR 236, near the Putnam County line for a report of a single vehicle crash with injuries.
Deputies responded with several fire agencies and located the vehicle. The male driver, of Indianapolis, was unable to remain conscious and was airlifted to an Indianapolis hospital for what was described asa known, and unknown injuries. The investigation showed that the driver had struck a deer while traveling east on SR 236.
The status of the driver is unknown as of this report. The Putnam County Sheriff's Office and Roachdale officers assisted at the scene.
