A motorist’s call to the Marshall County Central Dispatch Center early Sunday morning, September 1st sent county police looking for a possible impaired driver.
The call, received just before 1 a.m. told police they believed the driver of a vehicle heading southbound on U.S. 31 was impaired.
A Marshall County Sheriff’s Department deputy was able to catch up to the vehicle and make a traffic stop based on their observations.
After investigating, the deputy believed the driver was operating while impaired and placed Tyler Byerline was taken into custody. He was taken for a certified test and processed into the Marshall County Jail for operating while intoxicated.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
