The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) has announced over $15 million in grant funding to 33 organizations across the state for the Job Training and Economic Development Program (JTED). The program provides workforce training and wrap-around services to help bolster workforce recovery for Illinoisans struggling to gain meaningful employment. According to DCEO statistics, the Illinois Eastern Community College District #529 which serves Lawrence and surrounding counties in southeastern Illinois is in line to get $547,853 in money to help increase employment among workers and industries hard hit by COVID-19.
