The Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) reminds motorists and travelers that the resurfacing project east of Lawrenceville remains underway.
The work began earlier this week on Old U.S. 50 from the Business U.S. 50 exit east to Illinois Route 33. The $3.6 million project is expected to be completed by the end of June.
Additional work to be done includes road shoulder maintenance with lane closures. There will be signs and flaggers used to direct traffic through the work zones. Expect delays and allow extra time when traveling through the construction area. Motorists are also encouraged to use alternate routes to avoid the area, if possible.
