Lawrenceville Indian head football coach Cory Joergens has announced that Wyatt Halter is being honored by the NFL Chicago Bears.
The senior has been selected one of only nine high school football players to be a Bears Community High School All-Star.
The award recognizes high school student-athletes who make a positive impact in their communities and schools and exemplify service, leadership and character.
Halter was an Indian football captain this past season and was selected as an All-Little Illini Conference (LIC) first team defensive back.
In addition, he played at quarterback and running back on offense.
He will receive a painted award football from the Bears, along with being honored on the Bears official X page.
Also coming his way is a Bears swag bag.
The team will also make a $500 donation to a charity of Halter's choice.
