A Decatur County man was killed in a Monday motorcycle - car crash.
About 5:30 p.m., troopers from the Indiana State Police - Versailles Post investigated a two-vehicle crash that occurred in eastern Ripley County. The initial investigation determined that a 2015 Nissan passenger car, driven by Debora Peters, 64, of Milan, was traveling eastbound in the 8000 Block of East State Road 350, just east of Milan. Peters’ vehicle slowed for another vehicle that was making a turn. Peters’ vehicle was then struck from behind by an eastbound 2008 Harley-Davidson motorcycle being driven by Augustus Reichman, 55, of Greensburg.
Reichman was transported to Margaret Mary Hospital in Batesville, where he was pronounced deceased. Peters was not injured in the collision.
The investigation is ongoing. Toxicology results are pending although alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors.
