The Greenfield Police Department has received information that some people are getting phone calls from Deputy Chief McMichael asking for bank information related to a purchase.
In a release from the department, Greenfield Police wish to make it clear that Deputy Chief McMichael has not made these phone calls. The caller ID is showing up as "City of Greenfield" but the call is not from the City of Greenfield.
People are advised to not provide any banking account information if you get these calls. No one from the Greenfield Police Department will ask for your bank account information on the phone.
