Patrolman Thornton received information Monday at 4:45 p.m. that 36-year-old Brenda Esperanza Figueroa-Diaz of Plymouth was residing at a new address and had a warrant for her arrest.
Thornton arrived at Figueroa-Diaz’s residence in the 700 block of North Michigan Street and located her inside.
Figueroa-Diaz was transported to the Marshall County Jail for her felony warrant and held with no bond. Her initial charges were identity deception, operating without a license, and driving while suspended, which had a $1,500 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
