Dustin’s Place will host their 5th annual Join the Journey 5-K race and 1-mile Family Fun Run on Saturday, May 4th
It begins at their building located behind the Plymouth Community Church on Lincoln Highway east of Plymouth.
During the County Commissioner’s meeting on Monday, Diana Wiess, President of Dustin’s Place asked the commissioners for approval to use a portion of county roads to conduct the run. Wiess said they will be using the same route as in the past, leaving the facility and heading west into Plymouth on Lincoln Highway.
Runners will travel on to Pennsylvania Avenue to Liberty Street and then back east on LaPorte Street. They will head south on Kingston Avenue and back on the Pennsylvania heading east towards Dustin’s Place. Once they get back to the church runners will go into McQueen’s Addition to finish the route.
This year the theme is Star Wars with the saying, “May the fourth be with you.” Participants are encouraged to dress up for the race.
Security will be provided for runners on Lincoln Highway and at intersections.
Dustin’s Place provides free grief support for children ages 4 through 18 as well as adults. Their mission is to support children and families through connection and the sharing of their grief journey after the death of a loved one. They believe no one should grieve alone.
