Drivers arrested for operating without licenses

Drivers without licenses continue to be arrested by officers with the Plymouth Police Department.

On Friday evening, just before 9, Officer Witkowski conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for operating without headlights after sunset at Fifth and Madison Streets.

The driver, Yasmin Elisa Mendez Alvarado, 29, of Plymouth, was found to be operating the vehicle without ever obtaining a valid driver's license. Mendez Alvarado was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was lodged.

Saturday afternoon, August 16, Patrolman Thornton initiated a traffic stop on Oak Drive, South of U.S. 30.

While speaking with Boni Azua Barradas, 35, of Plymouth, it was determined that he had never been issued a driver's license. Barradas was transported to the Marshall County Jail and booked in for operating a vehicle without ever obtaining a license.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
