On Monday, August 7th at approximately 07:50 in the morning, Police Chief John Weir was assisting the crossing guard at Washington Discovery Academy when a silver Chevrolet disregarded the traffic control device at the crossing on Lake Avenue.
After speaking with the driver, Elbin Ariel Colindres-Hernandez, it was found that he never possessed a driver's license, and he was just arrested for the same in May. He was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.
