The Morristown Police Department has added a new deputy marshal.
Josh Carlton was hired in April after an application process, physical agility test and interview.
Carlton is a Morristown graduate and has generational ties to the community. He served 5 ½ years with the Shelby County Sheriff's Department prior to completing a lateral transfer to the Morristown Police Department.
Carlton is a Tier 1 graduate of the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy and will continue to serve the county and Morristown as a member of the Swift Water Rescue Team, Fatal Accident Crash Team and as a part-time School Resource Officer.
Carlton is working second shift in his new role in Morristown.
