At approximately 7:45 Christmas Eve, Marshall County Sheriff’s Department officers were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 6 and Dogwood Road. The caller advised they were unsure if there were any injuries.
When County Officers arrived on the scene, they found a 2022 Honda Pilot driven by Sierra VanDekeere, 35, of Osceola that had been eastbound on U.S. 6. A southbound 2012 Honda CRV driven by Delia Varela-Murillo, 21, of Warsaw, failed to yield to eastbound traffic and pulled out and collided with the Honda Pilot.
3 occupants inside the Honda Pilot were transported to the Bremen Hospital to be checked out for non-life-threatening injuries.
During Officer Haygood’s investigation, it was determined that there was no record of a valid driver's license for Delia Varela-Murillo.
A formal report will be sent to the Marshall County Prosecutor's Office.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted by Bremen Police Department, Bremen Fire Department, Bremen EMS, and Newcomers Wrecker Service of Nappanee.
