County officer arrests 2 Warsaw men for driving without licenses

On Thursday, May 29, at approximately 10:00 p.m., Deputy Williams with the Marshal County Sheriff’s Department conducted a traffic stop on a van for not having a visible plate on U.S. 30 near Gumwood Road.

While stopping the van, another car also stopped.

During the officer’s investigation, it was found that neither driver had ever received a driver’s license. They were taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail.

41-year-old Reinel Andonia Torres Arita of Warsaw and 18-year-old Neyen Torres Lopez, also from Warsaw, were booked into the County Jail for operating a vehicle without ever receiving a license. They were each held on $100 cash bonds and bonded out about an hour after being booked.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
