Mayor Pro Tem Don Ecker updated the Plymouth Board of Public Works and Safety members during Monday evening’s meeting on the railroad crossing on Lake Avenue.
He had reached out to Katie Chimelewski Roller with Patriot Rail Company a week ago and was pleasantly surprised by her response. She told him the project had gone to bid and was awarded. The contract calls for the crossing to be rebuilt in March 2025.
In September she had told Ecker the rough crossing issues on Lake Avenue were being addressed by the railroad company’s engineering department. She told him this is a larger project including a full rehab of this crossing. In September she estimated the project would be completed in the second quarter of 2025. Roller also said the railroad had added cold patch and would continue to patch as best they could until the construction work got underway.
