Several county department heads appeared before the Marshall County Commissioners on Monday with requests.
Sandy Dunfee from the County Health Department was granted approval to travel out-of-state to attend an immunization conference in Philadelphia. The annual conference April 8th through the 11th.
The County Attorney also brought up the lease extension for the Community Resource Center. Dunfee said the extension is for this month only and then the new month-to-month agreement begins in April. The new lease will take effect April 1st and the new rate will be $3,300 monthly through March of 2025.
Beau Holcomb, Director of Community Corrections asked to apply for the Community Corrections Adjustment Justice Reinvestment Grant. The grant funds Drug Court at $65,000, the Prosecutor’s Felony Diversion Program at $61,000 and the Community Corrections programs for $337,000. The total grant amount is $489,000 and Holcomb confirmed the request is for funds in 2025.
County Auditor Angie Birchmeier requested approval of a pre-pay for the County Treasurer. L&D Mail Masters prints and mails all the tax statements, and they require the pre-payment of the estimated postage cost prior to mailing out the tax statements which is expected to be April 5. Birchmeier said she intends to send the check prior to the next commissioner’s meeting. The commissioners approved her request.
