Marshall County Commissioner Adam Faulstich gave an update on the issues with service that the county and area citizens are having with Brightspeed.
Faulstich said he was finally able to contact the regional representative with Brightspeed. He said, "This is the guy who puts out work orders and oversees repairs on their systems."
The commissioner was able to discuss the issues in the County Building and passed along the information that folks have shared on service issues. They also discussed the copper wire situation and confirmed that those lines can be repaired.
To address citizen complaints about poor service with Brightspeed, the county commissioner needs the names and addresses of people experiencing internet issues so they can identify where problems might be in Marshall County.
If you are experiencing an ongoing issue with Brightspeed, please email Marshall County Commissioner Adam Faulstich at adamf@co.marshall.in.us with your name, address, and a detailed description of the ongoing issue you are experiencing. The commissioner would like to have your information in the next week or two and will forward it on to the Regional Supervisor for Brightspeed to investigate.
Commissioner Faulstich wants to keep the pressure on Brightspeed to get the issues cleared up sooner rather than later and hold them accountable.
Faulstich said, “As far a consumer advocating, we do have multiple services in the county. We have a multitude of internet service providers right now. This process hasn’t been advocating for one service or another. It's more or less trying to hold one of our service providers accountable for the service they are giving to their customers in the county.”
Faulstich said Brightspeed did confirm that they are staying in Marshall County and the region. He said, "They need to be held accountable to some degree." He wasn’t promoting any specific internet service provider, just making sure they are offering what they promote to consumers.
