City police pursue 18-year-old Plymouth teen on motorcycle

An 18-year-old Plymouth man on a motorcycle was arrested after leading police on a pursuit this weekend.

Officers with the Plymouth Police Department tried to stop a motorcycle traveling east on U.S. 30 east of Pioneer Drive Saturday night just before 11.

The motorcycle was traveling 90 mph in a 50 mph and disregarded the traffic light that was red at U.S. 30 and Oak Drive. He then traveled south on Oak Drive at a high rate of speed. The motorcycle also disregarded the red traffic light at Oak and Pidco Drives. The driver turned east on Harrison Street, finally pulling over.

The driver was identified as Gustabo Escobar, 18, of Plymouth. He was placed under arrest for resisting, reckless driving and for a motorcycle learner permit violation. Escobar was booked into the Marshall County Jail and given a court date and cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is merely an allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
