City police arrested a Plymouth woman Wednesday for possession of fentanyl.

Just after 8 p.m. Wednesday, Officer Ayala with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the 1500 block of West Harrison Street.

During his investigation, Plymouth’s K-9 Officer Vinson utilized his K-9 partner Castor. Castor indicated the presence of narcotics in the vehicle, and during the search, suspected narcotics were located.

24-year-old Victoria N. Anderson of Loon Court in Plymouth was taken into custody.

It was later discovered that the suspected substance in her possession yielded a positive field test for fentanyl.

Anderson was transported to the Marshall County Jail, where she was booked and lodged for obstruction of justice, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, and possession of cocaine or narcotic drugs.

Victoria Anderson was held on a $3000 cash bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
