On Saturday at approximately 2:25 a.m., Corporal Schieber with the Plymouth Police Department conducted a traffic stop on Gilmore and Fife Street for a moving violation. During the officer's investigation, the driver, 47-year-old Matthew Schoff of Plymouth, was found to be intoxicated. Schoff was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was lodged for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.

On Sunday at about 2:30 a.m., officer Witkowski conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle that was traveling south on North Michigan Street for operating without headlights. The driver, Kevin L. Calvillo, stopped at the intersection of North Street and Western Avenue. He was found to be operating the vehicle without ever having obtained a valid driver's license.

Mr. Calvillo was taken into custody and transported to the Marshall County Jail. He was issued a court date and a bond.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
