The City of Shelbyville will host a Fall Festival on Aug. 23 in downtown Shelbyville.
The event is dedicated to shopping local and supporting the community.
Shelbyville Mayor Scott Furgeson is leading an initiative to incorporate more community-focused events in our downtown green space, aiming to increase tourism and showcase the charm of the city, according to a media release.
The festival will include kids activities and the opportunity to picnic on the Public Square.
The Fall Festival is a family-friendly event that run all day on Aug. 23 and culminate with a free concert by Hello Weekend from 7 to 9 p.m. in downtown Shelbyville.
Furgeson encourages downtown businesses to extend their shopping hours, offer specialty items or sales and utilize their exterior brick space to celebrate the fall season.
