A Greenfield nine year old boy died following a reported medical emergency prompting an investigation into his death.
Just after 3 a.m. Friday, Greenfield Police and Greenfield Fire Territory were dispatched to a home for a child in a medical emeregency. CPR was being performed on the child when first responders arrived. Officers took over the CPR at that point.
Greenfield detectives and the Hancock County Coroner’s Office are investigating. They indicate there is no evidence of criminal activity associated with the death. An autopsy is being scheduled.
The boy is a third grader at Weston Elementary.
Weston Elementary is planning activities for the students on Tuesday afternoon. Parents are encouraged to reach out to their school’s social worker or administrator if they would like to help children cope with this situation.
