Corporal Schieber with the Plymouth Police Department found himself attempting to catch up to a speeding vehicle in the area of U.S. 30 west of Pioneer Saturday at 11 p.m.
The vehicle he was chasing was traveling in excess of 80 mph in a posted 50 mph zone. Schieber was able to pace the vehicle in excess of 90 mph, which was later found to have three adults and one juvenile passenger.
The traffic stop took place on U.S. 30 and Queen Road during heavy rainfall, and the driver was identified as 37-year-old Evelyn Sanchez of River Grove, Illinois.
Sanchez was taken into custody at 11:56 p.m. and lodged in the Marshall County Jail on a preliminary charge of reckless driving. Her cash bond was posted at 12:11 a.m.

Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
