Deputy Williams with the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department arrested 32-year-old Cierra M. Castillo from Pennville, IN on Saturday, March 23rd.
At approximately 2:40 Sunday morning the county officer conducted a traffic stop on a red Jeep near U.S.30 and State Road 331. During the stop suspected narcotics were found along with paraphernalia.
Castillo was booked into the Marshall County Jail on a C misdemeanor for possession of paraphernalia and a level 6 felony for possession of cocaine or narcotic drugs. Her cash bond of $1,500 was paid about 7:30 Saturday night and Castillo was released on bond.
Readers are reminded that charging information supported by an affidavit of probable cause is a mere allegation that a crime has been committed and that there is only probable cause to believe a crime has been committed. They are presumed innocent throughout the proceedings and are entitled to be represented by counsel and entitled to a trial by jury at which the State is obligated to provide proof beyond a reasonable doubt before a judgment of guilt may be made.
