The Bremen Public Library has kicked off its first-ever One Book, One Community event, and the public is invited to participate.
The book is The Anxious Generation by social psychologist Jonathan Haidt, published in 2024, that diagnoses the youth mental health crisis, attributing it largely to the shift from play-based to phone-based childhoods driven by smartphones and social media, arguing for a societal "great rewiring" to restore child well-being.
On Thursday, January 22, at 5:30, there will be a FREE showing of the powerful documentary The Anxious Nation, inspired by the NYT bestselling book The Anxious Generation, at the Bremen Theater.
Following the film, a conversation with a community discussion will be held at The Wooden Peel.
The Bremen Public Library welcomes you to come watch, learn, reflect, and connect with friends and neighbors. Let’s start this important conversation together.
