A 45-year-old Bremen man is facing felony charges after a joint investigation by multiple agencies determined that a 14-year-old child had allegedly been inappropriately touched by the suspect.
According to a news release from Detective Les McFarland of the Marshall County Sheriff's Department, the investigation began after the department received information from the St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit and the Division of Child Services regarding the alleged conduct of Toby Manges of Bremen.
Lt. Detective McFarland took the lead in gathering statements from individuals connected to the case, collaborating with St. Joseph County and child protective services throughout the investigation.
On Tuesday, May 19th, Manges was arrested and transported to the Marshall County Jail, where he was booked on two Level 6 felony charges: Sexual Battery and Sexual Misconduct with a Minor. He was held on a $1,500 cash bond.
The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was assisted in the investigation by the Culver Community Police Department, St. Joseph County Special Victims Unit, and the Division of Child Services.
